Ok guys I am going to be purchasing a sportster for my ol' lady and it is used.
My question is.. Is there a way I can run the VIN to see if there has been any damage to it or see how many owners its had or anything kind of like a carfax for a harley??
Also its a 1200C and a 2005 Model. Is there anything I should be worried about with this year or model? I want her to get the best I can for the right price.. I am looking around 6k in price
CarFax is only a volunteer database and many wrecks are not reported to it so do not put 100% faith in it or any other reporting company. Most of their database comes from a FEW insurance companies,if i wanted to find out if a vehicle was in a wreck I would try the state police or Motor Vehicle Dept were you live as most accidents are reported to them.
SplinterMC,
Hey I have an 05 1200CC and no problems with it at all.
I currently have 22000 miles on it and riding it daily. Good
Luck and ride safe!!!!
