Default Craigslist responder

Anyone ever get a Craigslist responder that only wants to talk?

Had some respond to my ad and at first was ok. But by the forth email I had to tell them I'm done with 20 questions. Pissed him off so he states good look with that attitude.

He asked for three more angles of the bike. (already had 4)
How many miles do I ride typically in a year
Have i ever ridden an 04
Is the vibration in the 03 uncomfortable
How many miles can you ride the 03 before its uncomfortable (I assume he want rubber mounted!)

I want to sell it but every email was followed by another question

Default Craigs List Works!

Every question should be followed by a "come take a look and see for yourself" answer. If you spelled out the particulars in the listing and posted with pics then it's on the buyer. Craigs list can be a PITA, but, on the other hand you never know where your next customer will be coming from or what they will look like. Anyone who tries to bargain first before seeing is deep sea fishing! Make a judgement call and move on from there.

The first question seems a bit much...four pictures should be more than enough unless they're crap.

The last few though sounds like he's trying to reasure an opinion he has. I'm assuming your bike is an 03 or older Sportster frame mount. I have a 1999. I bet he rides or has ridden an 04+ Sportster and has heard all the horror stories about how the solid mounts will rattle your teeth out, cause a numbing sensation in your hands and feet within 4 minutes of riding, and the mirrors are rendered more useless than something you'd find in a funhouse.

The second question is gauging how much you ride to determin if you would have a clue as to how it would feel to ride your bike long distances regularly. Maybe he is concerned you only ride to your local bar and back once a week and have no idea that your bike is an out of balance washing machine stuck on its spin cycle.

Next question is to determin if you've rode a rubber mount to compare it to.

Third is coming closer to the point and asking about how "bad" the vibration is on the solid mount.

The last one is really the heart of the matter...if he buys your bike is he going to be in pain if he rides it because the vibration has fused his spin into one solid piece and now will attempt to drive it through his skull if he rides it for more than 15 miles at a time.

But that's just my guess. Personally, I find my rubber mounted Dyna smoother than my solid mounted Sportster but I never thought the Sportster as uncomfortable and I put about 20K miles on my bikes a year.

That's the guy who asks a million questions, then says he'd like to come see it and probably purchase it, causing you to clear an entire day and he never shows

Nope never had responses like that. Most of my emails were ridiculous low ball offers.
