Default School me -- what are these bikes (details!)?

Hey guys, I'm new to the forums, and I need some help. I grew up around Harleys (I'm 30), and my parents have had they're bikes for about 13 years. For personal reasons, they must sell their bikes, and I'm going to help them because they don't use computers.

http://j-phi.com/harley/

Please check out these pictures on my website. Just some quick shots, but I think they should be good enough for this.

What they told me:
The first bike is supposed to be an '84 Sportster with an Iron Head engine. Originally 883cc, bored out to 1000cc. SS carb, new chain, good tires, new sprockets.

The second bike is supposed to be a '73 Sportster, Iron Head, 1000cc, lowered somehow, 5 spoke wheels, and a speedo that doesn't work.

So, does that sound right? Is there anything else you can tell me about the bikes? And finally, what do you think I could get someone to pay for these?

Thanks!

Don't know about the 70's one but I see 80's Sportys from $2500-$5000 depending on the condition.

You probably realize this already, that the 73 is a right side shift and left side brake. And I believe that they were 900s (883).

I did realize the 73 was a right-shift, but I'm glad you looked! Thanks for the help so far. Do the dates seem correct? Is there anything important that I should know about the motors that would differentiate these bikes from the pack? And again, what about a price? Thanks!

You know as far as asking price goes, it really depends on what condition they are in, miles, stock vs modified engine, etc. But I think Sauerkraut is right about the asking prices, unless there is something really unique about one or the other.
