Default Speedo & dummy light relocation options?

So I am doing the "major" upgrades to my bike in stages. I just finished the pipes, AC and re-jet stage and am planning for the next stage which will be handlebar/speedo stage.

Right now I've got pretty wide buckhorn bars. They're def. not the original bars that came stock on my 06 XL883 but I've seen them on other sportsters so they are HD brand. After much thought and deliberation I want to go with a taller T-bar setup. I had 14" apes on my last bike and they were nice but after about an hour my hands went numb from being above my heart. That's why I want a nice set of T-bars that put my hands about mid-torso level. I've found a few in several online stores I like but I'm stumped when it comes to the speedo and dummy lights??

Going with the T-bars means I will have to get rid of the top clamp on my current bars therefore doing away with the speedo housing and dummy light panel. *I do not want to go with a side mounted speedo such as the one from Joker or the home-made one using an Autometer guage bracket. What other options am I left with? Anyone have a good answer.

Also I currently have a peanut 3.3 tank and eventually want to go with a 4.5 gallon tank from a Sportster Custom model or perhaps another HD model altogether. Would I be able to use my current speedo and dummy light panel in a tank mounted console like some of the softails and such?

Sorry for the long post and I've tried the search as much as possible the last few days trying to figure out my options! TIA

-Matt

You can use an aftermarket Fat Bob tank which has the speedo on the top of the tank. Tanks can be bought on e-bay, J&P Cycles, Etc. I am sure there are people on here that have that tank.

I have an 09 iron & moved my speedo on top of the headlight visor. I used an 883 low speedo mount that also accomodates the dummy lights. With a slight modification to the mounting holes & 2" spacers it mounts up perfectly & does not hit the visor. This will allow you to mount the "T" bars.

Yankee Engineuity makes a variety of clamps and cups for your speedo. A little pricey but they have a good variety and the products are nice. They make clamps for T-bars and OEM speedos.

Any resolution to this wonderful dilemma you were facing? I have an 06 883r. At a similar place you were when you posted this. Was looking for a little help.
