Could somebody point me in the right direction of where to get a carb rebuild kit for an 04 Sportster 1200C? The dealership says HD doesn't offer a kit for it. Does that sound right? They can get an aftermarket one for $37.95. That sounds high to me. I've seen some around $18 but want to make sure I get a good one. Who else makes a quality kit? Thanks in advance.
Yes. I did that first. I'm looking for experienced opinions on who makes a quality rebuild kit, not just where to get any rebuild kit.
Well, I've only rebuilt several dozen so I probably can't help much. Never bought a bad kit yet, regardless of where I got it, but then I guess $15.00 is a big gamble.

Your first post was very helpful, and I appreciate that. I'm not sure why you're being a jerk now with your other posts. I'm not new to being a mechanic just new to bikes. I have rebuilt carburetors before too, and Ihave bought new o-rings that are bad. I don't want to waste my time with messed up gaskets or o-rings and have to reorder parts and wait on them to put the bike back together especially when there is a group of experienced Harley owners that I can ask.
I wanted to get an idea of which aftermarket companies for Harleys are good ones and which ones just sell cheap crap to make a buck. What's the point of having a forum for this kind of thing if you're only going to be ridiculed for asking a legitimate question?
He wants to know where he can get a good $40 carb kit for $10. Right?
We're all just kidding here... But cHarley knows his Sh** and usually gives good advice.
As I said, his first suggestion was great. I would buy from them if it was in stock right now. I don't mind spending $40 on quality parts if it's better than a $20 kit, but that's not the case. Harley wants $40 for a non-OEM kit, because Harley is selling it to me not because it's better.
