Something tells me the lady isn't going to be too happy with the bill, but that's what happens when cagers don't pay attention. She's lucky it's just the bike that got messed up.

Thanks again for the responses.
Hey locomikey -- I have the same 2003 custom , black & silver paint. Long story short, and one very upset pit bull later, my front fender has teeth marks drug through it (top and bottom of fender) - almost unbelievable, but I swear it's a true story...

so - I've been shopping around for painted tins to do a change out, but also wondered about a price on just fixing the original. Can you give up the price range the dealer is talking to fix your rear?

Good luck with your repair and glad it was just the bike!

I have a full set of anniversary tins (03 Xl1200C) that I'd be willing to sell.

The tank is in great shape, the front fender has one small ding in the dead center from the previous owner dropping the fork lock & the rear fender has the normal marks from the stock seat & he also had a sissy bar bag that apparently touched the black in the fender...BUT the ding & marks are in the black which can be repaired & painted with no evidence.

Just sayin...

Not sure if you were offering me or Locomikey..... Also not sure if that's my paint scheme... my fenders are straight silver, no black centers.

Beggars can't be choosers though so I'm interested to see what your asking.
(New to this site, couldn't find where to send you a PM)

I added a pic of the fender to my albums (?) in case you're interested.

Need to clarify too, I've got an 883C, not a 1200C (unfortunately)

Yeah...the 883 fenders are all silver & the 1200 has the black in the center of the fenders.

There were two different silvers used on the silver/black anniversary tins and I can match them both...the black isn't anything unique.

But it's the decal that is a pain to come up with. I found one set of brand new decals one time and have yet to see another.

As an update - my bike is at the Harley dealership (and has been since 4/11), and I still have a couple weeks until I get the bike back. Since it's an '03 and the parts are restricted, they had to send my messed up tins to Harley Davidson, and now we're waiting on the new ones to get back from the factory. They don't do any body work on them at the shop. It's not my nickel since the lady that hit me is paying for it, but to replace the rear tin and replace a turn signal is about a $975.00to fix (to answer dxerebl's question). I think I may go get another set of backup tins just in this ever happens again; I've been without my bike for WAY too long. It's my therapy, and I'm going nuts without it!
