I am 5'2" and a new rider with 2000 miles on my 2006 883L. I am having to reach for the stock bars. At first, my back was hurting right between my shoulder blade, but that finally stopped. I am going to look into the pullback HD bars or will take other recommendations. I traded out stock seat for HD Reach seat. That sure helped my cush' and brought me a slight bit closer to the bars.
Also curious if the bike will feel totally different to me and if I'll have to get re-aquainted with the bike all over again?

It'll feel a little different but should be better with the reach and stop some of the shoulder/back pain that you're having. As far as getting re-acquainted, it won't be much. Just a new riding position and handling the balance...it'll be quick. Let us know how it goes and post pics.
