I good friend of mine had a 1989 XL1200 that he owned for four or five years with no problems at all and I currently have a 1999 XL883 that I have been able to put on almost 53,000 miles on it with no engine problems to speak of. IMO, the EVO Sportster engine is fairly bulletproof with even the most general servicing and I don’t know of any glaring problems that you need to stay away from. You can look up any and all recalls for that year Sportster and any other year Sportster to see what may have been a problem that needed to be addressed. Other than that, it kind of falls to the previous owners maintenance of the vehicle! Good luck with your purchase and ride safe out there!

What ^^^^^ XLCR said. No real issues for year/timeframe. Just depends on how the PO maintained it over the years. Oh, and it's not that your in the wrong forum or that we don't know about the '95's. It's that we're out riding our scoots instead of reading in here.
