Long story short, my Garmin Quest 2 died and Im upgrading to a Nuvi 755t. I removed the cradle/mount/cables for Quest 2 and it plugs into an orange connection under the seat. It only gets power when the bike is on- I like this. I like this a lot in fact. So much that Id like to get the same type of connection they have on it and split it so I can A) run my new GPS power off of that, B) run an additional power source, like a cigarette lighter adapter and keep it tucked in the side cover. My only problem is I have the slightest clue what type of connection plugs into that, or where I would buy said connection. I am at work right now and dont have pics- I can post later if need be.
I was thinking of something like this recently after posting about running out of mods. Guess I'm not finished.
I already have a battery tender lead attached to the battery to keep it charged up during the winter. The leads from the battery and ground have a quick connect / disconnect plug that tucks into the side cover.
I was going to get another plug that would plug into thye battery tender leads that I would wire to a marine 12 v plug. You can get them at West Marine and they have a cover. My Lickes solo bag is right below the side cover so I was going to keep the 12v plug in the Licks to use with a phone charger, GPS charger or whatever else.
