Default Found a connector that's not connected...

Ok, yesterday I pulled my battery to install the ring terminal harness from my new Battery Tender. In the compartment where the battery sits I found a yellow connector just sitting there. It's a three wire female end connector. I looked and couldn't find the other wired end. I did find a housing that it fit into and clicked securly to but it is hollow inside, no connections. Bike obviously runs fine. My question, what is this connector for? I did a quick search in my HD repair manual and could not find it. I don't have the manual with me right now so I can't do a more thorough search. Just curious what that connector is used for. Thanks.

It sounds like the connection for a security system siren. At least that's where I connected my siren on an 09 XL1200C.

if it is triangle shaped it goes to the siren if you have an alarm installed. Other then that it is not used.

The siren connector on mine is a 3 wire flat connector that has a plastic cap that goes on the plug. It is just in front of the battery.
