All the time, I've managed to get five and six years out of MC batteries by using a tender regularly.

What year Sporty? Having the clock running is a constant drain.

I ride year round down here in Texas so there is no need for me to run a battery tender.

I ride year round too but I keep the tender plugged in all the time. I've had batteries last almost 7 years and I've read in Motorcycle Consumer Reports the benefits of keeping the battery tender on. As expensive as batteries are now I want to get my monies worth.

That's an excellent way to cause the oil system to become contaminated with moisture. If you can't take it for a good 1/2+ hour ride and allow the motor to reach full temp and burn off any existing condensation in the motor, you shouldn't start it at all.

Hi, Mine is Plugged in after every ride. Takes but a second and seems to be a benefit for the battery so why not. I always thought the bike needed to be in motion to charge the battery back up, not just running the engine ? ...WVleo

I'm also in Texas and ride year-round, but after accidentally murdering my battery a couple weeks ago I'm taking no chances. Don't ever wanna be caught with a dead battery again - anywhere. I plug in regularly now.
