replacement parts for taillight relocation kit ?????

Default replacement parts for taillight relocation kit ?????

hello everyone , i need a part and the dealers say i need too buy the whole kit for $80.00. i have the taillight relocation kit installed and backed into a car in the driveway snapped the threaded end that the light assembly screws onto so i need the bar that goes across and the light attach too . well as i said dealers want me too buy the whole kit 80.00 wont part out the kit and well im stuck i have inspection coming up nee d to get this fixed , i can make a temporary bracket with angle bracketds attached to my license plate , but i want that bar too fix it right . anyone ? any ideas , suggestions ??? thank you ride safe

I just barely went through this same thing, and am sitting here about to reinstall the new kit I bought. Unfortunately, according to HD (and multiple online sources I checked), the stem piece is not sold separately. Instead of spending 80 bucks, go to Zanotti's or ChicagoHD. They offer 20% discount on parts. Tape the light while you wait for the kit so you don't have to park the bike while you wait.

If it snapped off at the threaded section see if you can get a bolt to thread into existing tube hollow the wires feed through... on the threaded piece then get someone to drill out the bolt it doesn't have to be to long.Also you get a hollow treaded tube the use on light fittings if the gods are smiling on you that might fit.H.

hello again . cant do pics , gave broken part too my machinist friend he will flush cut the end drill and tap it for the proper size bolt insert bolt cut too length drill out center of bolt and done . sounds easy , but it will be a bit of work . plus if i break it again im all set to replace it with an extra hollow bolt piece we'll make up .

i must say im really bummed about parts not being available from the seller of the kit .
