Well today I stumbled across the CVP Tuning kit website and ordered the CVP Premium Tuning kit due to the fact my carb still coughs.
I figured this could be the solution after reading some of the reviews from customers. I also am very eagar to wrench on my own bike and want to stay away from the stealerships. Anyone have any bits of information from their CVP install?
It's one of a number of brands available and should enable you to improve things. You actually end up with more parts than you can use, so just buying a few jets from a dealer or indy is probably cheaper, but the kit hardly breaks the bank!
installed the kit in my hugger a few months ago along with their ez tune a/f needle it made a difference in how smooth and controllable the power comes on as you turn the throttle

Don't drill the 1/8 hole in the vacuum piston... Installion is pretty straight. I have the same kit in my bike, helped out alot. Ask any questions if u get into a pickle
I installed the kit in my bike a little better than a year ago. I bought the 06 883 wrecked-totaled front end, engine was fine. I took the carb apart and gave it a thorough cleaning as the bike had been sitting a year and the inside of the carb was varnished. The carb still sneezed and performance was terrible. After purchasing the CVP kit, I followed the instructions, used the jets that corresponded with the chart CVP sent me. It was like I put a new carb on the little monster. The sneezin was gone and throttle response was way smooth. I drilled the hole in the vacuum piston area as per the optional instructions and it worked out well for me. If you are not sure as to whether or not you are comfortable with this - many say don't do it, others like me did it and it is fine - then by all means don't drill. The CVP site has great videos for the install. Along with their written instructions, you shouldn't have a bit of problem. You're going to think You got a new bike !!!

I put the CVP kit on my '01 XLH "Beasly" at the same time that I added an SE A/C. (Beasly already had drag pipes when I purchased him.) The difference was palpable. He had been sluggish before. However, with the CVP kit installed, he went from merely quick to having "GO FAST!" throttle.
I think the entire installation took me about an hour. The only criticism that I have for CVP is that the instructions should have more and higher quality pictures.
