Hi thelonegray, I'm only 5'5" but still need the forwards on my 1200C for My legs, it just feels more natural . I think My Mustang Vintage Seat May have moved Me up closer to the tank about 1" or so. Also You are one of the few people here who can't argue with the fact that Your riding a " Girl's Bike " as You inherited the ride from your wife. All of a sudden the Girl's Bike thing is looking like a stroke of genius and I may want to talk to My wife about getting Her " Her Own " Sporster ! You Da' Man ! You got the ride plus look like a great husband supporting Your wife's feelings ! 2 birds with 1 stone, enjoy that ride........WVleo
I sat on one with forwards, and I can honestly say the difference isn't huge. I think the bike is too short lengthwise to really benefit from them versus a larger bike. Plus with the stiff ride of the Nightster I like to be able to lift off the seat a smidgen for big bumps. I thought the forwards made that a little tougher to do. Just my opinion though. FYI, I'm 5'9
