well just updating this 2yr old thread (lol)
life happened and put everything on hold so i was unable to get a bike. now, opportunity has happened where i can get a bike. i used the time in between to learn a bit more, and educate myself somewhat better. (a little not a lot) on purchasing a bike, etc. Looks like my first bike is going to be either a Dyna or Softail.
I'm a bigger dude, and after talking with many people, searching, and sitting on bikes. I think I will enjoy myself on a bigger Dyna or Softail model.
Regardless, I plan on taking the advice and tips you all provided in this thread even though i'm not getting a Sportster.
