Question Forward Controls

I have my sons 05 883 Custom and I am too short for it (5'1") it has forward controls. Can the controls be moved to mid frame? There are 2 plugged holes mid frame.
Also what do you suggest to lower it? I know it needs a different seat to start.

you should be able to put mids on it. you will need the shorter brake rod as well. you can put shorter shocks in the rear, and change the fork springs. i would suggest the shorter rear shocks first before messing with the forks. burly sells what they call a "slam kit" which is shorter shocks and front springs. you can also change the seat. you proly know if you lower it, the ride will suffer somewhat as well as lean angle (parts can scrap) will be less cause closer to the ground. on my wifes 04 sporty, i put lower shocks in the rear and did nothing to the forks. she can touch the ground now without any problems and no noticable changes in steering. hope this helps. dont give up, the bike can be adjusted with a little work
