Default Cable Lubricating??

Hey guys. I hope everyone has had a safe riding season. I hope all is well. Here lately my throttle cable, or idle cable has been sticking. When I let off it doesn't snap back like it should. I put the cables on last August. Do you think they need some lube? And does one go about that?

probably need an adjustment and perhaps the throttle body where the cables connect may need some wd40 on the spring that makes it snap back

Make sure the thumb screw (throttle lock) under the throttle grip is loose.

Hey Rob, Graphite works very well and there are also bottles of cable lube that you can buy from the dealer or Cycle Tech or other similar shops. Some of them come with an applicator to help make it easier to lube the cables with. It never hurts to lube the cables and if you haven’t done it yet NOW would be a good time to do it. It may or may not solve your problem but it sure won’t hurt it either and it is something that needs to be done regularly. Give it a try and see what happens. Good luck with lubing the cables and ride safe out there Rob!

It's not the thumb screw. I've learned that lesson before. I'm going to pick up some lube tomorrow. I'm going to check the adjustments and go ahead and lube them. They just uncrated a Super Low. I'm anxious to see it.
