Default Exhaust
I have a 2008 sportster883 custom and i want to make it loader without spending money. I don't want to hirt the engine either. some guy on here said that i could drill a half inch hole down thru the center of the muffler to make it a little loader. Can i do this?

If you drill out or punch a hole through the stock mufflers, it will make it louder but you will lose low end and midrange torque. IMO drilled out stock mufflers are loud but dont have that deep throaty rumble. Thats what most people desire; deep throated rumble that is a harleys desirable trademark.

I know you don't want to spend money, but I picked up SE II's for $150. Nice sound for little money. Look on eBay.

cycle shack slipons also give a great sound. Deep and louder but not to loud.

I just did the Vance & Hines Slip-ons the other night, about $220 I think, very easy to install and definetly gives the bike a good Harley rumble.
