After buying the new bike I was told by the dealer that I would get a (full membership for 1 year to HOG) and I did receive all the info and a card for the roadside assistants. Has anyone out there ever had to use this service and what is the cost for membership per year.
Thanks all

It's $45.00 per year to renew. I've never had to use it, but others on this forum who have, said it saved their butts. There have been other threads on the subject, do a search.

As you ride you will eventually get a flat tire and if you have tube tires (can't plug and go) your only option is road service and it will more than pay the cost of your membership. The last time it happened to me was 2003 but you never know !

Sounds like a service similar to AAA. By the way, does anybody know if AAA still covers you if you are on your bike? I couldn't find crap on the AAA web site.
It just says the cover you for any "vehicle" you are driving or riding in. I would think a motorcycle counts as a "vehicle".

Actually there is another option in dealing with 'flats' on tubed tires.

Most of the guys I know run tube tires, and of course I do as well on my 1200C with it's front and rear Laced Wheels.

While on road trips at least one of us carry a small container of the "Slime Sealent Product", and it works great. I've seen it used a number of time to fix flats in tubed tires, and the stuff does it's job..

In fact many of the guys add this to a new tube when it is installed to protect against flats "down the road"..

I've seen this Slime tire repair stuff for sale in Walmart. Not sure what they charge but it is probably cheaper than ordering it online. As for the HOG membership, mine just expired and I was reluctant about renewing. For $45, I'd like more than 4 magazines per year and a pin and patch. On the upside, it's nice to know if I break down, someone will be there for me at a reasonable price. Going to renew today and then head on over to Walmart to pick up some Slim.
