Yes, these would work well, depending on your definition of "obnoxiously" loud. The larger the baffle, the less sound-deadening there is.

All that being said, I've been very happy with the look/sound of the Rush mufflers and wouldn't hesitate to buy them for another bike.
I went with that, only 100 bucks, Gives you a 14.0 AFR and that means
cooler heads. Simple plug n play Install and no need for all the dollars remapping and
feeding the dyno more money.
Unless you just gotta have dyno sheet braggin rights or that last 5% of power
out there where you will hardly ever ride.
Complete stage one,,dyno n remaps,,1,000 bucks,,no thanks.

I just don't want it to sound like drag pipes. I want the deeper throatier sound and it can go louder, but not like drags.

Then these'll be perfect. They pretty much split the difference between drag pipes and stock pipes from a noise perspective, and have a really nice, deep tone.

I stood behind the Rush slip ons,,on that 1200,,,48 model,,
Again he had the 1.75" baffles,,

At Idle say,,,,4 to 5 times louder than the stock HD banana mufflers,,
But Note ! All this extra loudness was Base tone,,not obnoxious.
To compare I'd call open drag pipes (which are virtually Impossible to tune for a stock engine)
I'd call drags 15 times louder than stock banana's,,,they will rattle windows as you drive by.
Open no baffled and drag pipes are the main reason we have to deal with Leo's and noise Issues.
IMO I think this It Is very Irresponsible of riders to go for a sound that loud..
When they clamp Us all down I will know who to thank.

He Cracked the throttle a bit,,I'm guessin If he had a tach It would have shown a peak of,,,1900 RPM's,,
The Bike was cold an he was smart enough not to rev a cold unloaded
motor btw,,,
THE 1.75" baffled rush muff's were LOUD, but NOT Obnoxious at all, As for WOT,,
well when and where,,some discretion should be used but Legal I'm shure..

I'm still following His advise and getting the 1.50" baffle,,
Cause I want the base and he said the 1.5" would be at best 10%
quieter than the 1.75" baff's.

Choose wisely,,Baffles are spensive,,bout 60 bucks

4 times? I have the 1.75's on my Iron and no way is it 4 times louder than stock. Actually I don't think that open pipes are 4 times louder in DB's. This is from the Rush site and as far as my 1.75's go there are times when I wish that I would have went for the 2.00's.

RUSH knows bike owners need the ability to change baffle diameters as a way to get the sound and performance they are looking for. "Every motorcycle is a little different," says RUSH owner Lou Pringle, "we offer dealers and owners the way to not only get power but also the right sound." "Being able to choose the correct baffle for their application is the answer." RUSH offers baffle sizes 1.50", 1.75", 2.00", 2.25" and 2.50" for the perfect tunability. Also available are two Race Split baffle designs in 1.75"/2" and 1.75"/2.25". RUSH baffles include a high density fiberglass mat kit contributing to the deep throaty sound the company is famous for.

"Some of the newer motorcycles are equipped with a 2:1:2 head pipe and converter (catalyst) and dealer reports show the smaller diameter baffles are not much more aggressive sounding than stock. We recommend using either a 2.25" or 2.50" to get more sound. If you are used to hearing the 1.75" then use 2.25", or 2.00" switch to 2.50". Because there is enough backpressure being created before the slip on, you may run them the same way as the 1.75" or 2.00" as far as tuning characteristics go. Best case scenario is to install some sort of fuel management and have a qualified technician create a custom dyno map, not only for the personality of your particular motorcycle, but to make sure the air/fuel ratio runs in line with the chosen baffle diameter to ensure against issues associated with a lean motorcycle because proper tuning was not done." says Sales Manager Adam Daniel.

"2010 Fat Bob and Dyna Wide Glide follow the same concept. However, we recommend the 2.25" or 2.00", but definitely not the 1.50" and in most cases the 1.75" for these applications." Daniel continues.
