Please help...spitting and sputtering
I am a new HD owner, ive been riding all my life weather it was motox or jap crochrockets...but once i sat on my first HD and felt the raw power i fell in love and will never look back...with that being said, i know enough "feel" and sound to know that my 07' sportster is not right?? when i am coasting or slowing down the bike sounds like it is spitting and sputtering ?? and it just started ...never did this b4...and all of a sudden its popping like a back fire when i let off the throttel...sounds great and runs fine when i am getting on it or crusing with a concistant throttel...whats up ?? 07' nightster 1200 with 5k mikes on it...everything is stock

check your plugs and see if the bike is leaning out.. normaly what i have found and read that the poping is the PCM trying to fix a A/R ratio problem. and this is all based off of what the 02's are reading.. my bike a 08 nightster pops on decel also.. i havn't really thought much of it

I just installed some Rush slip-ons and having the same issue. Just as you stated, during decel/coasting it sputters and spits like a mother but during accel or constant speed it runs like a champ.
I was wondering if maybe I had an exhaust leak or is it running too lean, opinions?
