okay so i have an 07 nightster and its been riding kinda of rough lately mostly with shifting it feels like its jerking forward when im riding. any suggestions on what might be the problem. also i just had the primary tightend.
Does it do it all the time, or just under certain conditions? If the latter, what are the conditions? Describe the symptoms a little more fully, too, please.

it does it at different times like today it did it while i was accelrerating but it was the first time but it mostly does it when i am just cruzing along to describe it best it feels like when you are not giving enough gas for the gear you are in. any cles what it might be.
It could be a couple of things. When I asked "when" does it do it, I meant more like shortly after startup or after having been ridden for a while, or when it's hot out, or when it's cold out, or...
If it is shortly after startup and/or when it's cold out, then (according to my stealership's mechanics) you aren't warming it up enough. They say that the '07 FI system needs 5 minutes of warmup in order to run correctly in cooler weather, and the bucking and kicking is perfectly normal for inadequate warm up. If it does it at other times, my first guess would be that you are in the wrong gear for the speed you are going, and lugging the engine. Sportster engines like to wind up a bit, and really aren't happy below about 2,500 RPM, especially the FI engines. If neither of these is the case, look for a clogged fuel filter, then check that your fuel pickup hasn't shifted. If all that's good, I'm out of ideas.

thanks for the help and yeah yesturday was pretty cold so that could have been what it was.
Glad I could help. To see if that's the problem, next time it's cold out, warm it up real good before you take off. If it rides right, then you know. If not, it's time to look at tougher fixes.
Yeah I had the same problem but just give it adequate warmup time, even when its nice outside. My nightster is like a woman, you have to warm her up before you ride her.
