On my 2000 1200 sporty I have a shaved corbin single seat to help get my feet flat on the grounf- now i am having trouble as on the right side my inner thigh touches the square box and burns to the blistering point.Help! Also I read somewhere recently about a company that is making trun signal lever extenders for Sportys- anyone know what company is doing this? Thanks

1200babe - Geezer Glide Thunders ol' lady here. I have a 1200 2000 sporty also. I am only 5' tall and have made all the adjustments possible to get my feet flat on the ground including a LaPera Bare Bones seat, 1 5/8" drop on the forks, 10 1/2" progressive shocks, an additional 1" lowering kicker on the shocks, and bought thicker soled and heeled riding boots....and I have the same problem. I have forward controls which makes it a little better than it was originally, but I still get the burn, too. I have invested money in HD jeans for the thicker jeans, but still get warm. I must say I have not dealt with blisters yet though.

I realize this really didn't solve your problem, but wanted you to know you weren't alone. Us, height challenge folks gotta stick together.

ride free and safe....in the wind

You can go with lower shocks. This combined with a low profile gel seat should give you a nice ride. If you look at my sporty you will see that my shocks are pretty much as low as you can go. I am 5' 11" and I have a friend who's 5' 2" and he can sit flat footed easily on my bike. I didn't get them for my height so much as just to lower this sucker as low as it would go without major modification.

The shocks I have are customs from Lick's Cycles and ran about $250 delivered per pair. Do a google for "Short Shocks Licks Cycles" and it should come right up. Omit the quotes of course.

If you live in the vacinity of Upstate NY we could meet and you could check it out before making a purchase.. just a thought. If not, I have seen other sporty's using these shocks (That where I found out about them).

Maybe putting a chrome cover on the oil tank would help act as a heat shield. I did that to my 01 and never noticed the problem you're describing.
