I asked in the Tech forum and all I got was a smart *** remark.
I have the 08 version of the SEPST and I have recently upgraded to a Windows 7 laptop. The software will not run after installation, "Nolan Has Stopped Working" Tried running in compatibility mode with Vista and XP SP2, there is no change, so I uninstalled and reinstalled and made sure it installed in C:/program files (x86). I continue to have the same issue...
Question: Is there something else I can try or is there somewhere to DL and upgraded version? I saw on the web there is a version 2.0 and a 3.xx or something. Or am I going to have to purchase a newer version?
Before I click on your cool link, I did try Google and came up with questions like mine but no answers. Looks like a new software purchase will solve the problem. Sux. I never really got to use the version that I already have since I just made up the cord.
you may try running a virtual machine with windows xp, microsoft's version is called virtual pc (see link below)...i've got thundermax with autotune, after changing my headers from drag pipes to a 2into1 system, i wanted to change the map, turns out the usb to serial adapter i've used to connect to the tmax in win xp doesn't not work on vista cause there ain't no drivers for that specific model...so i run win xp in a virtual machine when/if i have to connect it to the ecm...
Another good reason to keep an old (cheap) laptop around for a garage PC.
I had a desktop that went to crap and I replaced that with the new laptop so I could use it on the bike but maybe I can find an old used one or borrow one.
