Just changed my 2005 and including the filter precharge it took 3 quarts. Now I am sure there is still some in the engine and oil cooler that does not drain out, so the system total is probably around 3.5 quarts. It is halfway between the full and add when cold and right at full when hot.
I'll be danged.
Took it for a warm-up ride first. Let it drain 20 minutes.
I changed the oil and filter. Put 2.8 quarts in total and checked the oil.
Middle of the dip stick. Took it for a quick ride. Still middle of the dip stick.
Better go take her for a longer ride. It's a purrty day : )
Thanks Turn8a
