Clutch cable broke while on road.
Leaving a parking lot today I suddenly noticed my friction zone moved to be right when first letting out lever and noticed more than normal play. Figured i go on home and check it out(about 10 miles) after couple miles pulled lever to downshift and get over for oncoming emergency vehicle, no clutch. I made it home shifting with no clutch(had to roll through couple stop signs and make couple turns, luckily no traffic at time), it was hard to upshift(read a couple other threads saying give it some gas to shift, i didnt and didnt know this at the time). Any chance I did any serious damage to gears? im gonna change primary fluid again before riding after fix. It was a Motion Pro brand stainless cable, had problems with a little leakage of fluid out of crimp where it enters primary since i installed 2 years ago. Cable has always been properly adjusted so I dont think that caused the break. It broke right at the lever. I would not recommend this brand to anyone. I have heard of people shifting without clutch, but I sure never had the desire to try it!
