2009 Sportster motorcycle jack placement

this topic comes up when google searching for a sportster low jack, so i figured id post some pics (sorry for thread rez)
I bought a Sears red jack and it has a minimum clearance of 5 1/8'' (seems more like 5 1/2'')
I have a 883 Sportster low, which is off the ground about 3 1/2''
I bought a 2x6x8 from home depot for 7 bucks and had them cut it into 3rds
here's some pics -
admittedly I should have strapped under the tank, not over it.
I spaced out the wood so I could ride over one and then up on the next one to get an even raise.
