I had just got that same helmet in a small and I thought it fit pretty snug until I hit the road in it and the wind noise was horrible, I tried on a buddies Fulmer v2 and I honestly thought it fit better so I took mine back to trade it for a XSm. I got more wind noise than I could stand it felt like the wind was going directly in my ears. The shop didn't have the XSm so I'm gonna order one. I do love the graphics and design of the Bell but the Fulmer is just as good I think, the padding inside might even be a bit more comfy around the ears. Haven't rode in one though, just tried it on.
i think you're going to get wind noise no matter what with anything that's not full face. try a bubble shield and see that it will cut it down significantly.
i wear my hjc rps-10 full face most of the time. best newly released and lightest full face on the market right now.
very nice write up and pics, thanks for taking the time. after you ride if for a few months it would be great to get your thoughts on things like whether or not the helmet has any lift or not. Were prices compairable? I've got the V2...i dig it, always willing to change things up though if something better comes along...
^^^ will do. rode a couple times with it since i last posted and loving it. i'm using the bubble shield all the time because my aviator T3 goggles haven't arrived yet. price for my 500 stunt was $139 from motorcycle-superstore...$30 more than fulmer v2 i believe so not a big difference. wen the aviator goggles arrive, i'll use it without the bubble shield and let you know. stay tuned ;-)
i also ordered a 2nd bell 500 custom helmet - in silver flake. i'm working with an awesome custom painter who did a lot of custom bitwell helmets that you see on lowbrow customs' website. we're designing a special personal paint for me that's more personal. i got the 2nd helmet from leatherup with a 15% discount coupon so less than $100.
