Default 2006 Sportster factory main jet size

Hi all, my name is Alex, just wanna say hi to everyone. I am new to this forum and this is my first post. I bought a brand 06 Sportster 1200 low 3 weeks ago, pretty happy with it. I just hit 1,600km and have the screaming eagle slip on and big sucker stage air filter installed. I did a dyno test this afternoon at a local bike shop and the mechanic said I need a bigger main jet. Do you people know what's the factory main jet size? Hopefully I can find the main jet size without pulling the float bowl. Any help will be great, thanks.

I believe the stock main is 170 and pilot is 42. You will need to pull the bowl off to be certain.

Thanks for the reply. Finally I have found it in the service manual, it said Cali 180, USA 175 and Outside USA 170. I think you are right then, I am in Canada, 170 will be the right main jet size. I might just pull the float bowl off and check. Thanks again!

Hi, I have an 06-883 that I bought in the states, it has V&H pipes the slow jet is a 45 and the main is a 175. Did your bike run lean and fart thru the carb. Was your main a 175 and you changed to a 170. I'm asking because like I saidmine farts thru the carb and I wonder if I went to a 170would itcure the problem. I live in Bellville Ontario.

carb farts are normally an indication of a lean slow jet, or the idle mixture screw is not turned out enough.
