Any guys out here in austin that has a bike willing to help out a fellow ? i've tried jumpstarting my bike with my car:
-I connected the correct terminals to each bike and car (BUT I DID NOT TURN ON CAR as I read that is bad)
-I left the cables on for a few minutes
-Then turned the key to the on position on the bike and then pushed start and "nothing"....

No bueno....nothing happened. Do you guys think I should just have my bike towed and have a new battery put in? Or am i doing something wrong?

I know I don't have a lot of posts, so don't take this wrong, but the obvious question I have to ask. What is your kill switch set to?

I'd pick up a battery charger or tender to recharge the battery, thats a whole lot cheaper than getting towed.

even though the bike was repaired, you may want to recheck all the terminal connections .. battery to starter, battery to frame, etc.

+1 on the trickle charger before the tow.

It is possible the weather is making life difficult for you, but if it was turning strong one day and nothing the next, I would check out the battery/connections first. You might also want to check your fuses while you are in there.

clarifying question ...

in your initial post, you say it tried to start, but didnt .. I take from that comment that the started was spinning, but either it never fired or just never started.

In a later post, you say you connected the jumper cables turned the key, flipped the run switch, but got nothing when you tried to start.

Is this correct? no turn, no click, absolutely nothing when you hit the start button?

If so, this would imply a total loss of electricity. With the low bat, you should have heard the fuel pump. Did this occur? It is possible to fry a battery when connecting to the car, you would most likely have seen a serious spark show with that though.

I would place my bet on the fuses. Especially if the total lack of response occured after hooking up the jumper cables.

i would but the problem is i live in an apartment on the 3 floor with multilevel garage and no outside outlets.
The towing is free with my insurance

Yeah the bike was taken to a harley shop and they did a thorough run through and fixed the left side forward controls which was about the only thing that was damaged. They recommended that I replace the rear tire b/c its over due but thats about it.

I've checked all connections and fuses and all are in working order.

Sorry for confusion.
First time i tried to start the bike everything was on, fuel pump, lights but when i would push the start button it would click (like trying to turn over) but wasn't able to.

When i tried jumping it, i had all connections in the right spots black and red connected to car and red on positive on bike and black on the kickstand as i was told it would be for grounding it.
- i sat and let the connections sit there for awhile like about 3-4 minutes THEN turned on the bike (BUT LEFT THE CAR OFF no key in the car ignition or anything) when i turned the bike on, lights and speedo and fuel pump all on, i then pressed the start button and only heard it click.
I triple checked all the fuses and they are in working order. I even changed them out with all new sets and it didn't change anything.

THIS IS GOOD .... as long as you heard all the normal noises and saw the right lights, life if good .. you need more cranking power. It is possible that your jumper cable were wer on but not making a solid connection.

If towing is free, have it dropped by the dealer where they can do a check on your charging system and recharge/replace the battery as needed.

Good Luck

+1 on the towing if its free. Sounds like you have a dead battery and not being able to charge it in the parking lot. Other option is to take the battery off and recharge it in your apartment with the charger or take it off and drop it off at advanced auto. They will charge it for free so they can test the batt for you.
