That's a nice looking bike. I agree if it's in sound shape go for it no matter what it is. Can probably resell it and make some bucks.

For $2500, I would jump all over that. But it wouldn't hurt to try to offer him $2000 for it.

I think it's a 1200. I do love the paint, but the seat, bar and bags i'm not digging. If it runs good then I say $2500 is not bad for that bike and you know cash talks to maybe you can get it even cheaper?

See, I found one source that says it was '98. And I found a Harley dealer listing a '96 XL883C on CycleTrader.

No such thing as a '1996 XL883C', no matter what the Harley dealer says about their listing on CycleTrader.

The 883C Sportster was a Mid-Year 1998 release, and I don't know of any that hit the showroom floors before January of 1999.

It was also offered starting in January of 1999 to the European market, and it's designation was XL53C.
