anyway i pulled out the old float and put in the old float......yea the float that was in there was one from my rebuild kit, it was slightly different and slightly longer (go figure)
the old old one was more square where as the new one was a triangle and well slightly longer
put in the old old float and got it measured out right, we will see how this works in the morning. (don't think my neighbors would want to hear this bike at 2 in the morning
I have a '99 xlh1200 and was having carb problems. Was advised to use a needle from an '88 Sportster, H-D part #27094-88 ($10 & will have to order). Runs like a champ now. Your carb is the same as my '99. The only difference is the main jet size. The '88 needle is a little longer and has less of a taper than the oem. The difference was amazing. Runnig with high flow a/c and V&H longshots.
