Keep the bike and your gear, store it well so if the desire to take it out hits you can without much fuss. To ride again or not is a question that can't be answered now, or ever really; too much change and too many variances to make a final decision for 10 years from now. The only time any of us have to stop riding for good is when our time is up.
Well, good luck with whatever you do..I have been very lucky not hitting real bad pot holes on the bike but have hit a few with my truck and was glad I was not on my bike.
I must say, in all of the states and roads I have been on, Arizona does do well with maintenance.
Not saying all the roads are perfect here but many miles are kept in good condition. It does make me mad with all the road construction but it is all in the name of prevention.
Keep drummin Chuck. I had mine Christmas Eve. Lady turned in front of me, didn't even have time to hit the brake. Goin 'bout 40 on my RG, right over her roof to the tarmac. Lucky I didn't hit a pole or tree. would've really ruined everyone's Christmas, glad to still be here. Had full face and full armor in coat and pants. I'm bruised and sore from head to toe two weeks later. Coula sprained ligaments in my thumb and knee.
My old lady never asked me to do anything I didn't want to, but now she's askin that I give it up. I'll do anything for her. We're waitin to see if it's totaled. If it is, MAYBE I won't ride again. Hard to say.
Really do hafta "ride like your invisable", cause you are.
Glad to hear that you are OK. I agree with the folks that said not to sell off everything right away. Keep it and let your decision settle before awhile before it is permanent. That being said, if that is your decision, it is a good one because we all need to be comfortable.
Are you the one that just got the two Rapidos? I went to look at a 1961 Ironhead today and the guy has a high-pipe Rapido. Pretty doggy, and several missing parts, but a potential diamond in the rough just the same but he's not interested in selling?!? The '61 XLCH was more of a basket case (with too much missing) than I care to take on at the moment - especially at $2,600 (and he won't budge)! No wonder he's been "selling it" for over two years. I think, at that price, it will be available for a long time.

Yes, I have 2 Rapido's. I will be putting them both in the classified section. Probably tomorrow.
I feel your pain! I have been down a few times. I gave it up for over 10 years at one point! I have driven/lived in OK. There was a "pothole of the week" section on the local TV news!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ouch!
Heal fast and stay safe!
Sorry for your wreck. I felt the same thing a few years back. A small child darted out from behind a parked car. I was going about 50MPH. I had to swerve in order for me not to hit and kill him. Long story short...I hit a rock wall and almost took off my right foot. Lots of surgeries physical therapy (a years worth) I said I was done riding. Well last winter i got bit by the bug again and am glad I got back on the horse. I forgot how riding is therapy in its self. My best wishes to you and I hope to see ya' back on 2 wheels soon.
MotorDrum,
Thanks for your thoughts on one of my previous posts, it was good input which I used and am happier with my decision based on your input. I wish you the best and a speedy recovery.
