Default 575 Cams Now

Last year I was using 536 cams and the best 1/4 was 12.03 and 12.05 so I'm just a hair off that 11.99 goal.

So I ordered the 575's from NRHS and installed them this week and only had to grind alittle more off the rocker covers due to the higher lift for clearance. I already have stage II heads and forged pistons so clearance wasn't an issue with thoses.

They sound good and the bike still has good bottom end power compared to the 536's. Compression was 205 on the front and 210 on the rear which surprized me cause the the 536's was 203 front and 205 rear before I swapped them out. Maybe that higher lift cancels out that 2 degree retard on the intake side ???

Anyhow looking forward to next month when the track opens and see if a few more ponies put's me in the 11's

I've never been to a Dyno yet, but I would guess the 90's is a safe bet.

Still a 1250, I was going to use 575's in the 90 inch upgrade later this year and got to thinking why not try them first in the 1250, so a few hours later it was done and running.

I think the 575's are going to work out just fine, cause with forward controls and my head leaning over the headlight roll on wheelies are not a problem.

Will find out in Feb when the 1/4 mile track opens

Dude, you are 4/100's of a second away from your goal! Those are great number's for your bike! My best so far is a 12.46, and I'd take your low 12's any day.
I've read where you talk about how physically big you are, [and we know what a difference weight makes at the strip] and that makes those times even more impressive to me.
Between now and next month, go on a diet, lose 10-15 lb's [not trying to be a smart ***, trying to lose the same amount myself before the season starts] and I bet you'll be down in the 11.8's, no problem. I'm pulling for ya because I like it when Sportster's run times that turn's people's heads. And I know your's does and will this year.
Best of luck at the strip and remember, 'Don't blink while staged"!
