The Sportsters with mags that have a 150 tire have a rim that is only 3" wide. I've done it a few times with minor issues that were easy to overcome.

Also...I wouldn't space the sprocket with spacers. If you've done it with success you're lucky. You can have a proper spacer made or purchase one for around 20 bucks. BUT, the pulley doesn't need spaced.

I think I'm just gonna sell off my stock 16" tires from my bike and go buy her some new ones that will fit her bike. Looks like she needs a 130/90 16"rear and a 100/90 19" front.

Your front tire should work on the rear of her bike.

So 2 of my friends have told me that you cant put a front tire on a rear end. I kinda figured a tire is a tire? So what is the correct answer? Can you put a front tire onto a rear wheel as long as they are the same dimensions? Mine is a D402 MT90 and hers is a D401 130/90. According to internet surfing they are identical sizes.

The only difference is that the front tire is grooved to help move water on the roads out of the way.

What was your friends' reason as to why you can't?

They just said that a front tire is a different compound than a rear. Didnt believe them, but started to wonder.

You can call Dunlop & ask them if it's safe to run that tire on the rear. I've called Avon & Metzler & they told me what I needed to know about it.

Starting to turn in to a headache though.

the 150 tire on a 48 is made for a 16x3.0 rim.(frt and rear 48 rims are the same size) same size rim on her bike, should work same swing arm,belt,etc...as every other 04 and up sportster. will look better then the 130 and worst case you mount the front on her rear. but better to try then to never have. its only a tire for crying out loud.......
