I have a 2008 Sportster 1200 Low, added Vance and Hines Slip ons, High Flow intake, all installed by my Local Harley Dealer. Had the ECM remapped by the Dealer as well. Ever since I have had a high idle issue after roll on, happens when exiting the freeway and so on, getting lousy gas mileage as well 32 MPG or worse depending on how the bike is running. I can definitely tell the difference when the bike starts acting up, get engine lights periodically.
I took it back to the dealer right after it acted up which was almost immediately after I got it back. Took it back 4 times each time the dealer scratched their heads and could not give a reason why the bike was responding the way it is.
I need to know if anyone can help me figure out what I can do to resolve, can I add a Fuel pack, Thundermax, Master Tune, Power Commander or just cap the O2 sensors to open the loop and get it running a little richer?
Any advice would be GREATLY APPRECIATED! I want to resolve this the best and most cost effective way possiblle.
I have an 2009 883. I went with an exhaust and intake as well. I also purchased a fuelpak to start knowing I was eventually going to upgrade the motor down the line. I never had any issues with the fuelpak. The thundermax is a wonderful device as well. Big price difference I understand, but can one put a price tag on piece of mind and convienence. Up to you. Hope all works out.
I have an 09 883 with the same setup as you. I installed everything myself, then took it to the dealer and had the Stage 1 download done. I have had no problems. I think they must have done something wrong. Maybe you should take it to another dealer or indy shop to get a second opinion. Does your bike throw any diagnostic codes? If you just add a piggy-back type of fuel controller (PC-V or fuelpak) it may not help if your base MAP is messed up (ie. if they did the wrong download). Good luck.

Yeah I figured it was something they did, probably a bad map. They won't fix it, and I am out of warranty now. I was thinking the same thing, if its in the ECM adding a piggy back may not help but Remapping it probably will ie Master Tune or Power Commander. Still hoping someone may had the same problem and has a quick fix. I won't take it back to the dealer, all they do well is change the oil and I can do that :-) Thank you for the response.
I have a PCIII That I ran on my nightster but switched out for a PC V with auto tune. It is collecting dust in my garage and I will give you a sweet deal on it if you want to try it out shoot me a PM
