Good luck on negotiating on a new model! Unless they have a bunch of inventory, sticker price. I have seen shops offer up to $1000 of store credit but that was in the june-july time frame. Depends how bad they are hurting to move bikes. Plus getting to the spring fever season here in the norteast. I like the 2011 front tire look.

I paid cash for my 2011 1200custom. I didn't get any deal, just $10,299 plus shipping and unpacking. The dealer just got the sporty in and was not interested in dealing. It's funny, but since I bought it, 2 weeks ago, I have been in the dealerships for accessories etc. I have had a lot of salesmen and misc people come to me and say, "you bought that new custom, I really like the fat tire."
I can't help too much with negotiation since I paid MSRP. Let me know what you end up paying.
p.s. The dealer still doesn't have a new sporty in yet.

When I went to the dealer, they just got the 2011 in the day before. It is (was) the first 2011 they received. I was at the dealer yesterday, and they still did not have another one. I did not order it. I went in just to buy a Harley and not worrying about the price. I sat on all the bikes, test rode a couple, and just liked the sportster the best, so I bought it.
A funny story. I actually paid $11,699 for the bike, as I didn't do any research. This was a spur of the moment purchase. When I got home to tell my wife, she looked up MSRP on the internet, and saw it was $10,299. Anyway, the next morning, she went to the dealership, spoke to the GM, and they gave me back $1,400, to bring the price in at MSRP. I don't know of anyone else who could have gotten me a refund AFTER I bought the bike and brought it home.

When I bought my 09 1200C two years ago, the dealer I went to took $1000 off the final price which basically covered the $800 in accessories that I had put on. Go to a few different dealers and see how much they can move that price down. Two months ago, the dealer I bought my bike from was sending me letters about purchasing a new bike. If I only had the money I would have since i knew they would be willing to work out a price. Good luck!
