Default Wheel Question...Again

I need to buy new wheels for my 2006 xl883. Can I buy wheels for a 2005 and have a direct fit? I know they both have the same axle sizes but wasn't sure if there was anything else I needed to consider.

Thanks

If they're the same wheels then yes. If they are custom or just a different factory option then you will need different spacers.

What wheels do you have and what wheels are you looking to get?

Thanks

Well, if you do end up having fitment issues you can get the proper spacers for the 05 from a dealership and then it'll all fit on yours no problem.

What's wrong with yours? (if you don't mind)

The guy that owned the bike before me lived near the coast so both wheels aren't in good shape. On the front wheel the chrome is bubbling off and on the rear the spokes are all rusty and the hub has pitting.

And thanks for your help.

Exactly why I changed mine. Salt air corrodes everything; besides, my wheels are easier to clean than spokes.
