Half the stuff on our "American" bikes are actually from the Far East. Just to mention a few: forks, brakes, quite a few electronics...

All went well, and my bike started up with no issue at all! Got a decent ride out of it, too.

Hm...and that's after leaving it out for an entire Canadian winter. No fuel stabilizer either, just added some injector cleaner today and it started up perfectly.

Man, do I ever miss it. Looking forward to the warmer weather.

Thanks for all the help/suggestions!

4 quarts of oil is too much. I think it's 2.6 or 2.7 qt capacity.

1 quart for the primary/tranny, 2.6 for the engine, rest for the filter.

HD has a mixture of SAE and metric. It's kind of bi-polar.

was reading through this thread, when did HD switch to metric? Apparently I haven't worked on a new enough bike?

Default not SAE

well I do find that interesting so far every thing I have worked on on my 2005 is SAE .. headlight, front fender, forward controls , battery box, rear shocks, pegs, side covers , rear turn signals, horn, tank, air filter, handle bars, mirrors, riser, saddle bags , rear brake unit, license plate holder

where are these metric bolts hiding ? I am always willing to learn and have owned 6 metric bikes in the past ... so an aware of what a metric is ... but so far I haven't found one on my bike ... and certainly people can in a non threaded hole use a metric bolt on and after market part ... I have a box of stainless ones from past bikes that I could use but will not so as not to have to carry 2 different size sets of wrenchs in the tool kit ...

but so far every bolt I have replaced with a Lowe's stainless has been SAE thread
