They were installed when i bought the bike by the previous owner. They are Porker Exhaust pipes. I believe the company was later bought out by Vance and Hines...
As for touring, i dont go for more than day trips. and i am young and healthy so the rough ride doesnt bother me. I would love to find a sick way to chop the rear fender a little and still accomodate a passenger. I am not a big fan of 1 peice 2 up seats. i like the solo saddle or pan look much better. pillion pad may do the trick...
the only way i'd still put someone on the back of mine after chopping is to weld struts to the fender and run them down to the axle for support. other than that, i wouldn't trust it, not with my wife anyway but maybe my girlfriend.....lol.
