Default oil light flashing
On my 09 883C sportster my oil light started flashing while riding what is the cause? Please help

Have you changed your oil recently and were you riding when it can on or did it just stay on when you started it up?

Check your oil level to make sure you're not low.

Four things that I can think of:
1- faulty oil pressure sending unit.
2- oil level too low.
3- major engine problem such as faulty oil pump or worn out motor (not very likley on a 2009)
4- short in electrical system causing light to come on.

If you have lots of oil and have not done anything electrical latley (such as changing bars) than I would change the sending unit, if it's still doing it then you probably need a good tech to test it from there.

I have about 2 or 3 thousand miles before next change and oil level is full. I did recently get new bars. The dealer put them on. The light is blinking fast and sometimes not at all and when blinking is fast and faint.

on my 04 my light started to flash all it was is the connection worked it way loose.

That's it then, they pinched a wire somewhere and it's going to ground lighting the light, it's not a full short or the bulb would be on full bright all the time.
