I bought my wife a 1200N and she started complaining about the clutch being tight. I have been riding for years and own a Dyna. Now I rode the thing home from the dealership and it was a little tight (I am now a fan of the sporties by the way). I have put over 200 miles on it myself and still think it's a little tight. Could this be because she is a beginner and her first real bike or is there a way to loosen the clutch so she is more comfortable riding it?
there is it takes a fair amount of force to get it released yes ... I have had several other makes and this is the hardest to operate ... there is a kit to fix it but costs of course ... even my brother doesn't like it after he tried it .... but working in a steel shop had increased my hand strength enough that I don't really care .... it isn't going to get any better ... HD designs at it best. good luck

I would think there is something wrong with it, or it has been modified some how. I have an 07 1200 Low and the clutch is nice and easy. They all should be at least from 07 on up, I'm not sure what year they made a change to this but like I said 07 and up should be nice and easy.
Is this a new bike? If it's a PO'd bike, maybe something was done to give it a beefier clutch.

It's an '09. it has night train drag bars, i think a stage one kit, V-H short shots (I know, I am not impressed either) and i think that's it. if it's a design by HD, i hate to say it, she will have to get use to it. good news is she wanted to take it out when i got home for lunch today.
