Default Riser and Clamp Frustration

I bought 8.5" pull back risers and drag bars. They had to order the risers which took a week, but I finally got them, went to take everything apart and hit a snag...

I have a custom which apparently comes with a different set up than the regular sportsters. The bolt holes on the risers are off set but the holes on my speedo clamp are vertical.

Ok no problem, buy a new clamp and speedo holder thing, right? Wrong!

My LED set up is a clip in type deal while the stock clamp/gauge holler from other sportsters is a screw on deal.

So now I'm at a loss as to what to do. If anyone has done this before, knows what I need, mainly links or part numbers I would greatly appreciate them as well as any other suggestions!

There's nothing unique about your stock set up other than the funky speedo/top riser clamp. Maybe post some pics for better help?

You can change the light display...

Here's a plate brkt I made to hold the light bar like you have. It simply pinches between the risers & top clamp.

Here it is stock (other than drag bars)

Trying to piece things together can be super frustrating. But plenty of ppl here have gone through what you are dealing with.

Pics of yours will help a ton.

I saved this a while ago. It might be what you're looking for.

"Well, if you have the top clamp you will need back plate and gasket for the rear. The front gasket from the custom will work. Now for the specifice part #'s and pieces needed. This is for an 06 with incandescent bulb(not led) idiot lights. The two #'s for screws, one is backplate and one is bezel for warning lamps. Sorry don't remember which was which.

#3605 Riser bolts 2x$1.99=$4.00
#6590HW Riser bolt washer 2x3.99=$8.00
#56116-82A Handlebar clamp lower left 1x19.99=$20.00
#56117-82A Handlebar clamp lower right 1x19.99=$20.00
#2325 Screw 2x1.99=$4.00
#2361 Screw 2x.99=$2.00
#68513-95 Bezel warning lamp housing 1x2.99=$3.00
#68516-95 Housing, warning lamps 1x11.99=$12.00
#68551-95 Warning Jewel 1x18.99=$19.00-->Almost crapped myself, this is the little colored lens.

The idiot lights are plug and play. Just be gentle, they are snug and the bulbs are little and fragile. If you go to my profile I have several pics showing the difference in the parts between the custom and the low/nightster parts." From Flatlander.

It depends how your risers mount. If the bolt threads in to them from the bottom you won't be able to cut them down very much (you'll run out of threads) but if the bolt drops down through the top you can shorten them as much as you want.

If you don't need the dummy lights you can just remove them, but yeah, you can tuck or stash them anywhere.

I do alot where they only want the oil light and sometimes neutral light. Both of those are switched by grounds so you can take the whole stock mess off, run a single power wire to the oil & neutral lights (looped) and connect the ground feed wires. Super easy and SUPER clean.

Thank you guys, I'll check those part numbers when I get home.

Mreed, I was looking at using the stock set up from a nightster, but what do I do to cover the hunk of plastic the lights are fixed in? I don't think it would be good to leave it exposed?
