Default Seat Question

I'm starting a new thread because I am afraid that my old one has been buried. So I got the Danny Gray Weekend Solo seat from ebay today and it is a few inches from the original mounting hole. My question is that on my Nightster it looks like that there is a closer mounting hole on the rear fender that is filled in with a HD plug, I'm wondering if it is possible to remove that plug and move the mounting hole from the middle and put it in the forward hole, or is that there for a different reason? UPDATE: So here are some pics, the first one show what i think is another mounting hole and the second is with the seat just resting on the bike. It looks as it would fit perfectly. I guess I am asking if that is a mounting hole or something else and if it is how do i do it?

What possible danger keeps you from trying?

If it will reach there, go for it. Seems a little far back for a solo seat though, that is where the pilon seat bolts to in the rear on our Nightster.

Sorry, just now saw the pics. Losen the tab a little where it bolts to the seat and try to realign it. Looks extremely close, so this should work.

Thanks, TN. Just to make sure, that is a hole to mount a seat?

That's the hole a lot of solo seats mount to. My Lepera mounted there.
