Default Plug wire change...

I was considering switching to the Screamin Eagle wires more for cosmetic reasons, because I'm sure there are little if any performance gains to be had from a stock engine. My question is for those that have changed theirs...is it a pain in the ****? One looks very simple, but it looks like the other one is zip tied up under the tank. Is it that big of a hassle, and/or is it it worth it in your opinions? Thanks!

I just did mine today in 10min.

1. Pull wire off plug or plug from cylinder, once wire is free thread it under tank via small gap.

2. Take big flathead screwdriver and pop out the right hand side of bike rivet that hold that plastic protector with zip ties your talking about. This is the side of the bike you just threaded your wire out to.

3. Take same screwdriver and push plug wire off the coil(comes off fairly easy)

4. Take same screwdriver and pry the little black plastic protector covering towards you. It has a slit running along the underside and with rivet out youre able to pull it enough towards you and push wire down and out of it

5. Thread new wire back through from right hand side and follow the groove in plastic and push it back up through the plastic covering via same screwdriver technique you used to get it out.

6. Now all you have to do is have enough finger tip strength to push the end onto the coil. I had a buddy help push from the lh side of bike while I pushed from the rh side and it slid on fairly difficultly. This was the hardest part but I'm sure you could carefully use a pair of needle nose pliers to help slide it on also.

7. Re insert snap/pop rivet into proper spot

8. Now push ends loose ends by cylinder onto plug or change you're plugs out to new ones and install!!

Hope this helps, I couldn't find a post on it either so I made my own way up knowing I wanted the easiest way possible without un sniping those zip ties from that black plastic case off!
