Exactly what I was talking about, just plain fun to ride with a nice light feel.....softail I had felt like a couch and eventually was sooo boring so after investing $24000.00 and getting $14,500.00 in trade, it made me sick at the money lost but I never missed the bike. Also felt real good to stumble into a deal where someone else spent their money then traded. I could have bought the Street Bob but my wife said go with the one that was the most fun....there's this stigma attached to buying a smaller Harley...as if you have'nt arrived yet but I've been there and back again. So I'm out there polishing my Harley while my ZX14 sits and sits and sits catch my drift?????
You're exactly right. I too have been there and back again. I'm 72 and love my 1200 C
I bought my 1200 c in April and had the best summer of my life!! I put 5000 miles on that sucker and felt like that was not enough!! I can't wait till spring here in Ohio!!
enjoy and be safe
Congrats! And great choice. A XL1200C here, 6 years now and still can't keep off of it, not to mention the $1,000's I've added to her over the years. I'm 54 and I'll never sell my Sporty. Looking at the 07's however for a touring bike but the Sporty is too fun around town and in the twisties.

I'm right there with ya, sort of. I'm about $17000.00+ into a Street Bob and I'm sick of it.It's comfy, reliable, looks good, handles decent and is about as exiting to ride as a lawn tracktor.I'll probably get about 13.5 for it if I'm lucky.
Congrats on the new ride! I recently bought my 04 XL1200R with stage 1, SE2 pipes, etc and am loving it. I paid $6000 (plus "fees') and am only into for under $100 per month. these are great bikes id like to add a heritage, Road Glide or road King to the stable some day but I can see where the Sporty will be entertaining for years to come.
