Does anyone know where I can get a springer front end other than DNA for around $600 - $900 used, new, shops, auction, whatever it may be?

I can get a DNA now for less than $400 shipped but if I can get a better set for a few hundred more Ill consider since people are stating I really should spend a little bit more for a better set.

Thanks

Call Flyrite Choppers. They have some springers for around 500 that aren't on their site. Nice quality. I would venture to say that they're equal to Paughco or V-Twin. You have to call though...and they only had a few last I heard.

This. Or if they don't have them just wait on it and grab something better. DNA is both ugly and built mediocre at best. If you plan on riding regularly, go for a quality part. With suspension you always get what you pay for. EXACTLY what you pay for. After building with and personally breaking a few of these, I would never suggest one to anyone. For anything.

When you buy a higher end springer you're paying for better hardware, better construction, and better ride quality. You said you'd only want to do it "for now" - Why? Just wait it out a bit, get a nice one. I can't think of any part of a build that would require a front end to be swapped before a change elsewhere could be made. Otherwise it just seems like a waste of time and money for something that will inevitably disappoint you (trust me...it WILL, those things are cheap for a reason) and cost you even more money later on.

mreed - 6o66er: Thanks for both your posts I checked there site and was not able to get a number so I emailed them so will see what they say.

Here's a picture of the flyrite springer I found online. They sort of look like a DNA springer? I compared it and attached a picture of what I found.

Thanks

It's similar because they use DNA springer main fork components but the axle kit and spring hardware (rods, nuts, etc.) are the real difference between the two. Personally, I'd just wait and go with something else like a Paughco or OEM HD, but if you're wanting to do it soon with minimal funds then I'd go with the Flyrite instead of a DNA. The differences are minimal but it's still a better front end.

Thanks for the headsup. Im waiting for flyrite so will see what they state. As for waiting and going better Im still keeping my options open and looking at other units but cant go over $1000 for a set. So will see what happens.

Old thread but new ideas.
Three Two Choppers is offering a new upgrade Wishbone bolt on kit to replace that ugly square front section on your DNA or Paugcho springer
