Ok, so I attempted to ride two up with the wife. Not such a success!
Said she felt like she was falling off the rear and placed a deathgrip on me as she leaned so far forward my head was only a few inches over the tank. Felt like I was on the old rocket.
Oh, and we were only going about 10mph on our sidestreet.
She insists that I get a backrest however I cannot stand the options available through HD I do not think they fit the look of the bike.
While searching online, I came across the Haulen *** website and liked the design. I am now trying to find more info on them. Anyone here have one? How do you like it? Is it a quality product or should I avoid them?
I had one but switched to a HD bar mainly for looks. It worked just fine. The only thing the lady complained about was that it just wasnt tall enough to support her upper back on longer (4+ hr) trips. Although it was perfect for around town riding.
Yep, I have one. And I just checked, yepper, my bike is still pictured on their customer pics page. As stated, it's a good product and does what it's meant to do. It's not really a backrest, but just the assurance that your girl isn't going to slide off the bike. It does support their lower back a little, but not like a tall sissy bar would. Oh, and they were/may still be an HDForums sponsor.
Thanks for the info...think I will be placing an order.
@ WV, I saw they were still listed as a sponsor, however, their last activity on this site was: Last Activity: 06-07-2010 09:59 AM
So, not sure if their sposorship is still valid. Saw also that they used to provide 15% off for HDF members (SAVE 15% ON YOUR ORDER USING DISCOUNT CODE HDF2010)
FOR ANYONE ELSE THAT MAY BE INTERESTED, received this followup email from the Haulen Ads folks :
We are still a sponsor, but due to a few slow years we have had to reduce staff and have not been to active on the forum. We do still offer a discount to HD Forum Members, it is 15%. You have to order online, and enter the discount code HDF2010. Thanks -Al Haulen ***
