I like to leave the dead bugs to warn the others to stay away.

Some of the high end after market shields, like Clearview, can use Rain X, but even then it is not recommended. Like I said I use Pledge, works pretty good, Plexus is as good as Rain X and safe (I was given a free sample), but I'm too cheap to buy it.

When I had a windshield I always put a a coat of polish or wax on it a few times a season. It helped to keep it slick as well as nice and crystal clear. To get them off I would do what others have said and let them soak under a wet towel. Once the bug jerky is rehydrated they'll come right off.

Bugslide: http://www.bugslide.com/

Works great. Being a Florida rider, with Lovebugs in the air, I go through a LOT of it....

Default Your formula...slight variation...

Would a slight substitution of Bourbon and Coke for the beer diminish the results of your system? If not, I'll try it tonight.

'Just to clarify: the pi$$ does NOT go on the windshield as well, correct?!
