I ride a fatboy and have spent my fair share of money on mods. I have recently become obsessed with the the idea of a sportster bobber. Having seen some of the pics in these threads I have got to make one for myself. There is just something very cool about them and the look is old school bad ***!!! Looks like the mods to the fatty are grinding to a halt and I have a whole new mission. Thanks to all in these threads for posting pics and the vast amount of info given out. I will surely become even more broke now. I guess thats what visions of grandeur are all about!!
That's what happened to me, I saw the 48 and it was lust at first sight. The 48 is a blast to ride the 1200 motor really is something not to be taken for granted.

I was always a die-hard crotch rocket man since '06. Until the Nightster came out! Then on june 9 I traded out the rocket and went home with the Iron 883! Yep, any extra money seems to go into it, wouldn't have it any other way!
Yep, your story sounds familiar. My buddies all ride Fatboys, Road Kings and Softtails but I was drawn to that old school vibe I got from the dark custom sporties.
Like Aaron was saying the 1200 engine is overlooked by many but is quick to surprise. You'll enjoy your new obsession.
